October Golden Hour: The Raynor Family Session in Austin
The Magic of Central Texas in October
There is a reason October is one of the most highly anticipated months of the year for family portraits in Central Texas. The harsh summer heat finally breaks, the foliage shifts into gorgeous shades of amber, and the evening sun delivers a soft, radiant glow that is pure magic. My sunset session with the Raynor family was the perfect celebration of fall. Our main goal was simply to slow down, explore the beautiful landscape, and capture the real, unscripted love that binds them together.
Coordinating Fall Wardrobe Flawlessly
The Raynor family provided absolute perfection when it came to their wardrobe styling. Instead of matching exactly, they chose a stunning, cohesive palette that mirrored the autumn elements around us. Mom’s rich, pattern-detailed rust dress and baby girl's deep burgundy floral print added gorgeous warmth, while dad’s crisp patterned neutral shirt and big brother's sage green top beautifully grounded the image. This mix of textures and earthy tones allows every individual family member to stand out while looking completely cohesive.
Capturing the Quiet, Candid Moments
During a session with Memories by Jennifer Ely, the focus is never on forcing children to stare perfectly straight into a lens with a practiced smile. Instead, the real art happens when a family interacts naturally with one another. The way mom and dad look at each other with pure joy, the tight hugs holding their little ones close—those are the organic details that reflect what your life truly feels like in this season. These are the hand-polished memories that deserve a permanent home on your living room walls.
